- Imagen de la portada: The Aynard prayer rug, Mughal India, Shah Jahan period, second quarter of the 17th century, 0.90 x 1.24m. This superb Mughal prayer rug, named after a previous owner. It belongs to a very small group of surviving mid 17th century prayer rugs characterized by a realistically drawn single flowering plant, in a style much influenced by Dutch Herbal paintings. It is possible that this rug once formed part of a saf, or multiple niche prayer carpet.
