Arthur Upham Pope compares the Chelsea Carpet (which he attributes to Tabriz) to the Williams medallion carpet fragment in Philadelphia: "The Multiple Medallion carpet of the Victoria and Albert Museum represents a smaller but equally ambitious and more refined work of the same designer and probably of the same weavers. The two have many factors in common: the definition of the reciprocal by half arabesques; the use of the cinctured cloudbands alternately directed in the opposing lobes; the flowering trees, and some of the animals...It is a much more finished and graceful design than that of the Williams fragment, and softly curving reciprocals of the border are evidence of more perfect control by the weavers, as are the graceful fish in the central pool...

Arthur Upham Pope compara la Alfombra Chelsea (que atribuye a Tabriz) con el fragmento de alfombra de medallones Williams, conservado en Filadelfia: «La alfombra de medallones múltiples del Victoria and Albert Museo representa una obra de menor tamaño, pero igualmente ambiciosa y más refinada, del mismo diseñador y probablemente de los mismos tejedores. Ambas comparten numerosos rasgos: la definición del motivo recíproco mediante medias arabescos; el uso de bandas de nubes ceñidas, orientadas alternativamente hacia los lóbulos opuestos; los árboles en flor y algunos de los animales... Es un diseño mucho más acabado y elegante que el del fragmento Williams; las líneas recíprocas de suave curvatura en la cenefa evidencian un control más perfecto por parte de los tejedores, al igual que los elegantes peces del estanque central...»
