0.58 x 0.56 m. This extremely rare horse head-cover in classic Lakai style has embroidered panels, each with a different design, in silk blanket-stich and chain-stich on wool flannel, with card-woven zhiak trim and silk tassels. While loosely embroidered Uzbek horse head-covers of similar patchwork construction are relatively common, neither Soviet sources, nor Kate Fitz Gibbon and Andy Hale's researches in Afghanistan, have revealed other distinctive Lakai examples.
