- Imagen de la portada: The Last Judgement. Funerary tapestry. Nuremberg, c. 1450. Wool and linen, 2.42 x 1.47m. This dramatic tapestry, commissioned by Berthold Volckamer, was intended to drape the coffins of family members before burial. It represents Christ, dressed in the red robe of a judge, holding a lily and a sword, the symbols of mercy and justice. Angels blowing trumpets summon the souls of the dead to appear before Him.

Este impactante tapiz, encargado por Berthold Volckamer, estaba destinado a cubrir los ataúdes de los miembros de la familia antes de su sepultura.
